Master Yanlin

Shi Yanlin’s Bio data

Shi Yanlin (local name Xie Xuyong) was born in Zoucheng, Shandong province. At 26, he is one of the finest Kungfu masters from Shaolin Temple. He has a rich experience in teaching foreign students. Shaolin Kungfu is his specialty, but he knows other Kungfu forms as well. Master Shi Yanlin is well known for his skill in 3-sectioned staff, Pu Dao, and (animal) imitation forms. When he was 8 years old, his uncle, a Kungfu practitioner, took him to the Shaolin Temple to learn Shaolin Kungfu. After much physical and mental conditioning, he enrolled in Songshan Shaolin Si Kungfu School for further education on the science and theory of Kungfu. During his study years, he was much praised and became well known in the Shaolin area. Hidden beneath his calm and gentle manner are his efforts in cultivating himself and in learning English. Since 1996, he has been teaching Kungfu under the guidance of his master, forging friendships with many foreign students. Inspired by his visit to several European countries, he plans to teach foreign students as a means to promote cultural exchange. His three years of research on Kungfu theory and Buddhism enables him to be well prepared for this undertaking. His compassion and enthusiasm makes students feel at home. He keeps in touch with friends and students from all corners of the world by letters and emails. He aspires to spread the knowledge of Shaolin Kungfu to students all over the world. With Zen and Wu as the source of his energy, he devotes himself to teaching Chinese Kungfu.
